The purpose of the brake pads is to slow down or stop your car by creating friction against the brake rotors. 1. LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE
If your vehicle is taking longer to come to a complete stop or is experiencing difficulties slowing down, your brake pads are probably worn out. You may also feel the need to push the brake pedal down further than usual to achieve the same stopping power, which is also a bad sign.
2. SQUEAKING OR SQUEALING NOISE
Hearing any unfamiliar noises can be worrying, but don’t panic. It can be caused by the wear indicators that some manufacturers put in brake pads. When the brake pads wear out to a certain point, they start to make noises when contacted.
